St. Clare Preschool - Portland, OR

Infant Classroom Decorations

Over the summer I worked at a Preschool in Portland. At the end of the summer they change the theme of the each of the different age rooms for the next school year. This year in the infant classroom, the theme was Eric Carle/The hungry Caterpillar. I made fruits for the birthday months, while in the books the caterpillar eats other foods, not only are the fruits and vegetables more colorful and eye catching for the kids, but they also teach about an important food group. I made the larger fruits and vegetables for the months and then painted caterpillars one for each of the babies. We wrote their name and birthday on the body and in the hole was placed a photo of each baby (I took this photo before school pictures were placed for kids privacy). Along with the birthday months I took all the fruits and vegetables and collaged them together to make name tags which we put on cubbies, clipboards, diaper bins, food bins and above the cribs.
